Sea Level Rise Worldwide

Category: Photography & Branding

A team of researchers from France and the U.S. has found that the level of the world's oceans is increasing due to melting phenomena. The study, published in Nature is the first to determine how much ice in liquefaction process contributes to rising sea levels around the globe and has been published also in the European Commission web (cordis).

The researchers, led by the University of Colorado Boulder (USA) measured the global ice loss between 2003 and 2010 with GRACE instruments ("Experiment Gravity Recovery and Climate"), a space mission conducted by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in cooperation with the German Aerospace Center (DLR). The team studied mostly glaciers and ice caps outside Greenland and Antarctica.
